Lost And Found - Does Anything Here Look Familiar?
Parents,
If your child is missing an article of clothing, chances are that it is in our Lost & Found section.  There are hundreds of lost jackets, coats, and other items that have accumulated since our December donation. Please come check to see if anything belongs to your student as soon as possible.  

Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to sort through this massive collection and attempt to locate the correct owners, we would welcome that!  Please contact Mary Smalling for details!





Water Conservation Poster Contest Winner
Gwendolyn Anderson was the 1st place winner of the Water Conservation Poster Contest.  Congratulations!






NCVPS Parent Information Night Scheduled

A parent information meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 27th @ 6pm in the Hardin Park media center.  This is for any student that will be in 8th grade next year and is interested in taking an online foreign language through the North Carolina Virtual Public School system.  The NCVPS courses are designed for self-motivated, organized and responsible students who would like to earn up to two high school foreign language credits during their 8th grade year.  

An overview of the courses and how the NCVPS system operates will be discussed.  Students may also register for their course during the meeting.  If you have any questions, please email Craig Marze.

Tickets for Autobell Car Wash

Dear Hardin Park Family,
Tickets are now on sale for $15.00 for a car wash at Autobell. For each ticket sold, Hardin Park will receive half. Tickets are good for one Full Service Car Wash which includes:

* interior vacuum of carpets and seats
* exterior wash including wheels
* dash, door panel, and console wiped down
* interior window cleaning
* hand-dry by Autobell staff

(15-passenger vans and larger are extra)

Tickets are on sale at Hardin Park through Monday, May 27th, and the tickets themselves do not expire. Just send in a check for $15.00 made out to Hardin Park PTO, with Autobell in the memo line and we will send you a ticket back with your child.

Autobell says of themselves, "Autobell is committed to water conservation and environmental protection by recycling, water treatment and management, and using only biodegradable solutions."

EOG Proctors needed!
One of the busiest times of year for students and staff is
upon us. The week of June 3rd students in Grades 3-8 will
be taking the North Carolina End of Grade (EOG) tests. We
will be administering them on Tuesday, Wednesday of that
week. As a school we are in great need of volunteers to assist
in the proctoring of these tests. If you are available either
of the days, we can use your help. It requires 15 minutes of
training and then monitoring a group of students taking the
EOG. Training will occur the first day you proctor, at 7:45 in
the media center. Please contact Mr. Norman (264-8481) or
normanp@watauga.k12.nc.us if you are willing and able to help
out. Thank you for your support!

ASU Math Camp

Math Counts & Math Olympiads
Congratulations to the Hardin Park MATHCOUNTS team for their participation in the Regional Tournament in Hickory on February 19th!  They placed 10th out of 19 teams.
 
The Hardin Park Math Olympiads Club for grades 4-6 will start on Feb 26th and meet in Ms. Freeman’s room after school on Tuesdays until April 16th.  Time will be 2:30 to 4:30 PM.  More information and sign-up form is in the “Files” section of the MATH CLUB Fusion page.
